30.11.2007   Armed Forces Day
  On the occasion of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Armed Forces Day, the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina has organized a celebration event. The event was attended by Vice Admiral John G. Cotton, of the United States of America. The event has been organized in the main reception hall of the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina,

To celebrate the appointment of the new U.S. Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina H.E. Charles L. English, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the US, H.E. Bisera Turkovic organized a formal dinner at the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Washington, DC.

Guests from the State Department, Congress and numerous governmental organizations and NGOs, such as National Institute for Democracy, International Republican Institute, Heinrich Boll Institute and other guests from political, social, cultural and public life as well as eminent B-H citizens who live in the USA were present at the dinner.

Ambassador English said that he is honored by the appointment and hopes to assist, on behalf of the USA, B-H to overcome the current situation. In this context, he expressed hope that all political factors within B-H could reach a consensus regarding police reform and other reforms that stand in the path towards Euro-Atlantic integrations. Ambassador English emphasized that the USA supports all reform processes with the aim to improve the position of B-H within the EU and NATO.

Ambassador Turkovic wished Ambassador English success in his work in B-H and that during his mandate Bosnia and Herzegovina becomes a full member of the NATO and EU.

Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Zeljko Komsic visited the United States of America from August 24, 2007 to September 3, 2007 .

During his stay, he visited New York from August 24, 2007 to August 28, 2007 , Columbus Georgia from August 28, 2007 to August 30, 2007 and St. Louis Missouri from August 30, 2007 to September 3, 2007 .

The main purpose of his visit was to continue the friendly and fruitful co-operation between the United States of America and Bosnia and Herzegovina . He attended several meetings with representatives of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Diaspora of the above mentioned cities as well as U.S. Congressman Russ Carnahan (from St. Louis, Missouri), the Secretary of the State of Missouri, Madam Robin Carnahan, St. Louis County Executive,Mr. Charlie Doolie, Mayor of St. Louis,Mr. Francis Slay and Missouri Senator Harry Kennedy.

Also during his visit to New York, Chairman Komsic met with Secretary General of the United Nations H.E. Ban Ki-Moon.

The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United States of America has organized a presentation on “Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids” by Mr. Semir Osmanagic, the Chairman of the Archeological Park Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun Foundation.

Opening remarks have been given by H.E. Ambassador Dr Bisere Turkovic. The presentation was organized in the Embassy’s mail reception hall.

The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Washington, DC has organized the Commemoration of the 13th Anniversary of the Srebrenica Genocide. By candle light ritual, the participants of the event have expressed their sincere condolences. The event has been followed by screening of the movie “The Srebrenica Memorial” and opening of the photo exhibition “Srebrenica ‘95” in Embassy’s main reception hall. Before the movie has shown, both the Ambassador Dr Bisera Turkovic and Honorable Congressman Michael R. Turner as guest have given their speeches in regard the Srebrenica Genocide.

The Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United States of America H.E. Dr Bisera Turkovic is going to hosted an event, in honor of the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina H.E. Haris Silajdzic who will pay the official visit to Washington, DC in period from May 23, 2007. The event was organized in the Embassy’s main reception hall.

The Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United States of America H.E. Dr Bisera Turkovic is hosted an event, in honor of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina H.E. Sven Alkalaj who payed an official visit to Washington, DC in period from April 30th, 2007 to May 7th, 2007. The event was organized in the Embassy’s main reception hall.
1.03.2007   Spring Slavic Cultural Festival
  A representative of the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Washington, DC has attended the Spring Slavic Cultural Festival which has been organized in the George Washington University by the Cultural Slavic Festival Committee of the George Washington University. The Festival have attended representatives of the several embassies: Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine.
 
27.1.2007   An author’s reading and reception in honor of Zlata Filipovic Author and Editor of “Stolen Voices: Young People’s War Diaries, From World War I to Iraq”
  The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Washington, DC has organized an author’s reading and reception in honor of Zlata Filipovic, the Author and Editor of “ Stolen Voices: Young People’s War Diaries, From World War I to Iraq” (Penguin, 2007).

The event has been opened by remarks of H.E. Ambassador Dr Bisera Turkovic and Ambassador (ret.) Donald Steinberg, Vice President, International Crisis Group and Member, Advisory Group to the United Nations Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict.

The event was organized in the Embassy’s main reception hall.

  On the occasion of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Armed Forces Day, the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina has organized a celebration event. Having in mind that Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a state has become the member of NATO’s Program Partners for Peace, the event was attended by the Honorable Gordon England, the Deputy Secretary of Defense of the United States of America. In his honor the Ambassador Dr Bisera Turkovic has hosted a dinner, as well. The event has been organized in the main reception hall of the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
 
14.11.2006   lecture by International Organization on Missing Person, Capitol Hill
  The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United States of America in cooperation with the United States of America Congress - Helsinki Committee – Commotion for security and cooperation in Europe has organized a lecture by Mr. Amor Masovic and Mrs. Ewa Klonowska, anthropologist forensic from ICMP (International Organization on Missing Persons) on the Capitol Hill. The lecture has been followed by a screening of the movie “The March of Death”. The sponsor of the lecture was the Honorable Congressman Christopher Smith, co-chairman of the US Helsinki Committee.

  The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum has organized a lecture by Mr. Amor Masovic, the Director of the Institute on Missing Persons of Bosnia and Hezergovina, and Mrs. Ewa Klonowski, anthropologist forensic from ICMP (International Organization on Missing Persons). The lecture “Still missing in Bosnia and Herzegovina” has been followed by a screening of the movie “The March of Death”. The event has been organized at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.

  The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina has organized a lecture by Mr. Amor Masovic, the Director of the Institute on Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Mrs. Ewe Klonowski, anthropologist forensic from ICMP-a (International Organization on Missing Persons). The lecture was held in New York for the diplomats of all permanent missions to the UN and for the BH Diaspora living in New York and surrounding areas.
 
2.11.2006   lecture on the topic "BH on the road to EU"
  On November 2nd, 2006, Igor Davidovic, the BH chief negotiator for joining the EU, and Osman Topcagic, the director of Agency for EU Integration, have provided a lecture on the topic “BH on the road to EU” in the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The lecture has attracted so many people that the embassy was full to its capacity.
 
30.10.2006   Panel discussion with a topic "BH on the road to EU", Woodrow Wilson International Center
  On October 30th, 2006, the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina has organized a panel discussion with a topic “BH on the road to EU” which has taken place in the eminent Woodrow Wilson International Center. The panelists from the BH side were Igor Davidovic, the chief BH negotiator for joining the EU and Osman Topcagic, the director of Agency for EU Integration. Apart from the two BH panelists, the discussion included representative from WWC and representatives from several other embassies from Washington, DC.

  The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Washington DC has organized a lecture with topic “Current political and economic situation in BiH” to the professors and students of the American University. The lecture was given by the Ambassador and rest of the diplomatic staff.
 
21.08.2006   Screening of the movie “The Incentive of the women of Mostar”
  The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with the National Democratic Institute and the Sarajevo Film Festival has organized screening of the movie “The Incentive of the women of Mostar” (the movie was awarded a NDI Madeline K. Albright award in 2006). The film has been screened as part of the Sarajevo Film Festival in Sarajevo, BiH.
 
25.07.2006   Screening of the film of late Benjamin Filipovic
  On July 25th, 2006, on sad occasion of death of a famous BH film director Benjamin Filipovic, the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina has held an evening of remembrance of the director and director’s work.
 
07.11.2006   Commemoration of 11th anniversary of Srebrenica Genocide
  The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Washington, DC has organized the Commemoration of 11th anniversary of Srebrenica Genocide. By candle light ritual and by signing of the book of condolences, the participants of the event have expressed their condolences regarding the Srebrenica Genocide. The event has been followed by screening of the movie “The March of Death”.

  0n the occasion of the closing of an exhibition named “Sarajevo Hagada” the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina has organized a concert “BH Sephardic songs” in interpretation by Flory Jagoda

  The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with The Eurasian Center/The Eurasian Business Coalition has organized a promotional event of BH economic and investment opportunities. The participants of the event included representative of the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina and representative of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

  The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation the Institute of BiH Savedah Visoko has hosted a concert called 'The night of the BH Sevdalinke' in the reception hall of the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Washington, DC.
 
01.06.2006   Screening of 'The World and the Solidarity'
  The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with the Embasy of Republic of Poland in Washington DC has hosted a screening of Polish documentary film called 'The World and the Solidarity' by author Jolante Kessler Chojecka. The screening was hosted on June 1st, 2006 in the reception hall of the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

  In honor of His Excellency, the President of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sulejman Tihic, the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina has hosted a reception during which the President of the Presidency has opened an exhibition called 'Sarajevo Hagada'. The President of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina was visiting the United States from 05/08/2006 to 05/13/2006.

  The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with the Association of Publishers and Booksellers of B&H has organized the association's participation in 'Book Expo America 2006' held in Washington DC from 05/19/2006 to 05/21/2006.
 
10.04.2006   Lecture on “Challenges of Bosnia and Herzegovina, path to European Union”
  The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina has sponsored and hosted a lecture on the topic of “Challenges of Bosnia and Herzegovina, path to European Union”. Attendees were the students of the National Defense University.
 
06.04.2006   The night of Bosnian short film
  The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina has hosted an event called 'The night of Bosnian short film' as part of the cultural representation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United States, the host country.

The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the invitation of its diaspora was able to have representatives at various events (round tables, seminars, meetings with local government officials, festivals) as much as was possible within its limited budget.
